Game studio THQ was formed in 2006 by the purchase of the American studio, Midway Games. In February 2007, the company acquired the Japanese studio, Vicarious Visions, for $42.4 million. Later that Spring, the former's European studio, Dambuster Studios, was added to the mix. Six years ago THQ's management announced that they would focus on the creation of several quality individuals games for specific platforms. This approach has led to the birth of several high-quality games: published on Xbox, Playstation 2 and PS3, Saints Row 3, Darksiders 2, Darksiders: Wrath of the Manitou and Marvel vs Capcom 3. These games are made up exclusively with the THQ staff, except for the production of Marvel vs Capcom 3 made by the Capcom Studio. Rebelstar Studios was THQ's first French developer, the company started its work under the name of XSeed. The actual name of the studio's owner, RebelStar Interactive, did not appear in English until after the acquisition of Vicarious Visions. One of the first game studios to think of the Birth Star Wars Battlefront, Rebelstar dreamt of the creation of a Star Wars game from the beginning.
