In the new Mythos section, we find out that the devastating effects of the battle between Fellheart and the Shenakhul can be reversed by the right kind of sacrifices at the right time. In the world of Warhammer, the teams of the Word Bearers and Dark Elves managed to carry out a similar sacrifice to save the day. The Emperor, on the other hand, convinced the other gods that it was necessary to destroy both Fellheart and the Shenakhul to save them. All myths and legends aside, it was here that a huge power source that could feed numerous warp rift installations suddenly appeared. It does not say so in the Mythos section, but this new power source can be expected to win the upcoming legendary battle.
I am a bit unsure what I think about the new Legendary Battle, because I am not that familiar with the legend of the Shenakhul. Is it a good idea to add to this legend one that I am so unfamiliar with? Perhaps I am just tired of the Forgotten Souls campaign. Maybe if I ever play Blood Bowl, I'll be well prepared for the Legendary Battle no matter what.
For the remaining sections, I still have a lot of questions. The change of names and adding of ancient and modern units to the forces is somewhat awkward. What kind of unit is the vornskyr, for example? I could do with a summary of statistics for all units.
Whatever the case, the end result is good. I can't wait to see how the players will deal with the new mechanics. I think that warhammer legends are now on a new level (although not that far yet).
That being said it is quite a beautiful book, and a warm welcome to all who read it.Pillars of Eternity is a great game and if you haven't tried it yet, you should. It has a nice balance of story/action, combat, and exploration. Oh, and the graphics are quite wonderful...
The remaining Alliance fleet put out a search for the missing ship of Captain Coldeye, but no trace was found of the Alliance stronghold. [u]'Hundreds of Alliance vessels, almost all of them Alliance ships and a few allies, have been lost in the last month' explained the haggard commander of the fleet as the news reached him. A navy of this size and capacity cannot be called into action for a few sailors falling prey to the sea devils. If the Alliance did not care before, the reality of the High War makes them realize how high a price they have to pay in suffering and bloodshed for any small advantage. d2c66b5586
