Ohio is home to one of the largest collections of photography in the nation. The Wright State University School of Art and Art History has extensive holdings and is the setting of the popular PBS series Art:21. The university also has published his photography in its annual Ohio Arts Magazine. His work is currently showcased in the new Art Museum building under construction on the campus.
Axelrod's puppets first appeared on the hit Broadway show La Cage Aux Folles in the 1980s. In the early 1990s, he began work on the book series, Holiday at Powers' Bayou: A Puppets 'R' Us Made in Louisiana, which was an instant sensation. His product line continued to grow with the publication of Christmas at Powers' Bayou, a Christmas book in the Holiday At Powers series, and in 2010 his work was recognized by the International Toy & Game Association as one of the "21st Century Toys." His collection is the basis of the traveling exhibition and educational program he presents in schools around the country.
Dr. Michael Thomas was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. He received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School in 2000. While in law school, he worked on the first case in the state of Virginia where an expert's evidence related to social media content was admitted in a criminal trial.[213][214] He practiced law in Raleigh, North Carolina until 2005 when he moved to the state of Texas to practice law in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas.
