You may have heard of a little movie that recently came out called Frozen. In all seriousness, this movie is a monster and is sure to be another surefire billion-dollar hit for Disney in 2019. I recently went to see the movie with my wife (who loved the first) and this is my honest spoiler-free review of the movie.
I got into the theater around 7:30pm and had a good seat so I could enjoy the beginning of the movie. By the time the movie started, it was almost 7:25pm - I arrived on time so I would only have an average of 10 minutes of viewing time. There wasn't much of a theater full to begin with: on Wednesday nights, it was a lot of toddlers, and there was 1 other family that had come to see the movie.
The theater even started the first, general ad for the movie - which was fine, because I knew what the movie was about but it was nice to know that movie posters/ads would start during the movie for the people that didn't know the title.
The first 5 minutes were the intro for the movie. After that, there was a lot of talking about how 2017 was the big year, and how 2019 is a double-digit year for Disney. It was said like 3 times, in 2 different ways. This pretty much ruined the first "first thing Elsanna said to Elsa" of the movie, and it even ended up being a plot point later in the movie. I don't think that there are any major spoilers in the past couple of paragraphs, but it would be best to not read past these.
So, the movie starts and we lastly get to see Elsa's ice palace/frozen world. I thought this was where we would learn how Elsa was a "true" ice queen, and her siblings would all arrive to support her, but this didn't happen. There was a fairly comedic twist though - when the big sister gets off the bus, and Minnie Mouse greets her, she actually mistakes her for Anna (Elsa's sister). d2c66b5586
