With the introduction of digital transmission based on (Q)-PSK5 , QAM6 and finally COFDM7 , the broadcast channels have significantly improved and provide now the robustness and bandwidth required for the transmission of HDTV.
As indicated in the above section, the key-enablers for the successful implementation of HDTV, are the now established digital broadcast channels available for cable, satellite and also terrestrial transmission.
